Terms of Service

1. Agreement

Welcome to Book Nawa (“Book Nawa”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Book Nawa mobile application and related online services (together, the “Service”). By installing, accessing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the application and discontinue use immediately.

2. The Service

Book Nawa enables users to browse and consume digital reading experiences related to books, summaries, quizzes, listening features when available, and interactive community discussions. Features may evolve, rotate, or be discontinued. Some functionality may rely on automated or AI-assisted content generation to assist comprehension; outputs may be imperfect and should not be relied on as authoritative truth or legal, medical, or financial advice.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, summaries and explanatory materials do not replace the underlying books or works in any language; original works remain subject to applicable copyright and licensing terms owned by publishers and authors or their licensees.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You represent that you are legally able to enter into contracts in your country of residence and that any registration information you provide is accurate and kept current. You are solely responsible for maintaining confidentiality of credentials and all activity conducted through your account. Inform us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access (see Contact).

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) circumvent security, scrape or overload systems, probe vulnerabilities, reverse engineer beyond permitted exceptions under law; (b) post unlawful, infringing, deceptive, threatening, discriminatory, hateful, or excessively violent content; (c) harass individuals or misuse community features; (d) transmit malware or interfere with others’ enjoyment of the Service; or (e) misuse intellectual property belonging to Book Nawa, publishers, authors, users, or third parties. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or compromise safety.

5. Intellectual Property

Book Nawa’s branding, user interface composition, logos, trademarks (where registered or claimed), compiled datasets created by Book Nawa, underlying software and documentation are owned by Book Nawa or its licensors unless stated otherwise.

Marks, titles, cover art, excerpts, summaries prepared under license and other materials may be owned by third-party publishers or rights holders and are reproduced only as permitted under applicable licenses or statutory exceptions (such as quotation or quotation-like uses where applicable law allows). Except for rights expressly granted herein, nothing transfers ownership to you.

6. User Content and Licence

Where you post comments, discussion replies, profile content, uploads, feedback, bug reports or similar materials (“User Content”), you retain ownership subject to laws; you grant Book Nawa a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, adapt (format shifts only), publicly display within the Service, analyse for safety and recommendation systems, and create aggregated non-identifying metrics to operate, improve and promote the Service consistent with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

Do not submit content you lack rights to share. If you believe content infringes your copyrights or trademark rights, contact us (the “Help & feedback” page in the app) with detailed identification of the material and claimant authority.

7. Purchases and Third-Party Services

Future premium purchases, subscriptions or in-app products may be offered through Apple App Store, Google Play, or other distribution channels whose payment terms apply. Charges, taxes and renewal rules follow the relevant store settings. Service providers such as our hosting company and Google (sign-in, notifications and AI features) help deliver the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE OFFERED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER LAW, BOOKNAWA DISCLAIMS EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Automated summaries may omit nuance from original texts; quiz answers may occasionally be incorrect due to model or data limitations—verify important matters using primary sources or professionals.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL BOOKNAWA, ITS AFFILIATES OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL OR REVENUE ARISING FROM USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR DIRECT DAMAGES FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD 100) OR THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU TO BOOKNAWA FOR THE SERVICE IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT, WHICHEVER IS GREATER, EXCEPT WHERE LAW MANDATES NON-WAIVABLE LIABILITY.

10. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Book Nawa and its officers, employees and suppliers from third-party claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your User Content, or violation of these Terms, provided Book Nawa promptly notifies you and cooperates reasonably in defence (at Book Nawa’s discretion).

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access immediately for legal, security or policy reasons. Provisions that reasonably should survive—including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity and dispute handling—survive termination. You may stop using the Service at any time. Account deletion may retain certain records as limited by the Privacy Policy or law.

12. Governing Law

Except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country require otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without reference to conflict-of-law rules, and exclusive venue lies in the courts of competent jurisdiction in Riyadh unless another forum is required by law applicable to you as a consumer. Where you have non-waivable protections, those remain in effect.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms; the “Last updated” date on the screen will change. Material updates may be highlighted in-app or elsewhere. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance unless law requires additional formalities.
